This is my favorite, Frank. I'm always partial to great watercolors, and I can't say I've ever seen another with such a great expressive quality besides. Thanks for sharing.

Gorgeous mastery of the medium! I, too, am a huge Brian Froud fan(my granpa gave me the Faerie book when I was young), and I can see the influence...

I love to read about what trigger artwok in the mind of the creator ! How did this one come too life?

I have written a graphic novel for children about an evil wizard (this is a painting of him), a boy, a bunch of fantastic creatures, and a forest full of treetch (walking, talking trees with faces). A friend of mine posed for this painting...

wow did you use prismacolors to define the eyes area? They are so controled that is stunning work again!

Yes, Danielle, I did use prismacolor pencils to create the details on the eyes. The painting started of course with lots of wet-into-wet watercolors.

Thank you for your comments. Yes, this guy does look like he has lost his mind. And, Carl, I would be glad to meet you sometime-- but we live pretty far apart. I am in California, and I believe you are in Florida. I looked at some of your photos. Well done. And iit looks like you have had fun traveling the world over the years.
