Description
Flamingos wading in Moonlight Bay and a parrot singing on the limb of a tree. Tropical leaves and leafy big fronds from the banana tree.
One of the things that fascinate me about flamingos is their agile necks. They seem to grow longer and skinnier when they are flying. But their necks are almost collapsed when they rest their sleeping heads back on their bodies. At the San Diego Zoo they can be observed close up for quite a while.
After looking at Flamingos for some time I felt even more amazed by how these remarkable birds could balance for such a long time on their spindly legs and how they could twist their remarkable necks into such amazing contortions.
This original painting has many different colored spots of color in the lagoon. The primary colors in the painting are pink and aqua-green. The reflection of the late evening sun on the water is captured in the change of color on the water.
